The house seamlessly blends the island’s traditional materials. This project is a testament to the architect's skill in using a simple, renewing formal vocabulary to create a harmonious and serene environment.
The architecture and the interiors have a well-defined presence and a clean, modern aspect in a manner that is rational, functional, easy to use, and aesthetically minimal.
The materials sourced are all-natural and organic, as in the dark wood wall paneling in the kitchen, and enhance the living space. The team worked with strong contrasts: Dark and light, bone color, and charcoal black. The darker tones are reprised in the kitchen with dark teak, dark backsplash, and the earth plaster concrete kitchen top. The master bedroom is lined with a built-in custom wardrobe in a warm tone. Loose furniture and lighting also carry the dark vs. light contrast element that permeates the entire home in the color palette drawn from the river rock system below.
